On November 28, 2025, the SAMR Technology Innovation Center (Green Packaging Evaluation) and Chengde Technology held a joint Technical Committee Workshop to advance green packaging evaluation systems and foster multi-sector collaboration. The event featured progress reports, pilot project insights, corporate case studies, the signing of a Joint Laboratory agreement, and a tour of Chengde’s R&D facilities.
1. Opening Speeches
Deng Xiaobo, Deputy Director of Shandong Product Quality Inspection Institute, highlighted the Institute’s resources and stressed the Innovation Center’s role in industry transformation. He outlined the Center’s focus on technology transfer, a “2+N” management model, and a “Green+” service chain, reaffirming cooperation with the China Export Commodity Packaging Research Institute to accelerate development.
Huang Zhenguo of Longgang Municipal Committee emphasized the event’s role as a platform for dialogue, encouraging experts to share insights, promote technology application, and support green transformation in packaging.
2. Discussions and Joint Laboratory Launch
The workshop centered on advancing green packaging evaluation efforts, summarizing phased achievements and outlining next steps. A highlight was the official signing and unveiling ceremony of the Joint Laboratory. Chengde Technology shared its practical experience in green packaging technology development and application, offering tangible insights for industry-academia-research collaboration. Attendees also toured Chengde’s laboratory, which focuses on key areas such as mono-material composite films, functional films, and lightweight packaging solutions, showcasing the company’s latest advancements in green technology R&D.
3. Outcomes and Forward Vision
The workshop advanced industry communication and outlined a standards-driven ecosystem for green packaging—focused on collaboration and practical implementation.
The Joint Laboratory strengthens research-industry ties, supported by progress in domestic and international standards and actionable insights from pilot projects. Key goals for 2026 include expanding evaluation pilots, refining standardization, and accelerating technology transfer to foster sustainable growth in packaging.
